Smile For Me

"Smile For Me"
by
Rush Montgomery III

Wish there was a world like hers,
Where everything's okay.
And if the world should make her cry,
Tomorrow's another day.

And the music plays low,
On her car stereo.
And she sings such a sweet melody.
Sees the light fade to night,
Sees that all is alright.
Sees the man, but she doesn't see me.

[ CHORUS ]
       "Smile for me", she says,
It's hard, life is so hard.
But before you say we're through.
Let me try again for you.
       "Smile for me", she says,
But I'm weak, Lord, so weak.
As this sad life takes me through.
Let me sing a song for you.

Wish I knew a life like hers,
Where everything works out.
And if this life should pass her by,
There's nothing to be down about.

Seems like the kind,Who never could cry.
But she has. Surely she has at times.
Her parents' pride,Born the 4th of July.
Full of life, but not really alive.

[ BRIDGE  ]
       And your life's another show,
Pretty ribbons, watch the flowers grow.
All you see is all you need to know.
And I feel my weakness grow,
So I turned away to let her go,
All she sees is all she'll ever know.

[ REPEAT CHORUS ]
Let me sing a song for you.
Let me sing a song for you.
       "Smile for me", she says.
